Dear Club Members:

Greetings from your Marceline Golf Club Board of Directors. We look forwared to another great golf season and additional club improvements this year. We trust improvements already made and those planned for this year enhance your enjoyment and utilization of the club.

Rob Sims continues to do an outstanding job in keeping the course in tip-top shape and making improvements within time and budget restraints. Rob has been with us for 17 years. Next time you are at the course and see Rob let him know you appreciate his efforts.

For the coming year, the Marceline golf course will again operate the pro shop with Regina Paahlar as manager. In spite the economic downturn and the cost of living increase in utilities, we have managed to keep the current cost of dues the same. We will be increasing the cart shed rental and tralil fee dues by $25. You will be able to use the credit card machine located in the pro shop to pay your dues in full or in parts or you can continue to mail them to the course like years past.

This past year saw important improvements to our course. We added cart path from seven green by the gazebo to eight tee box. Rob has been hard at work cutting down dead trees around the course. We were able to purchase a new T-mower and work cart.

We are looking into spriggin our fairways with Zoysia grass at an estimated cost of $30,000. This would be done in June but can take up to three years for it to fully take over the fairways. We currently have some members who are donating moneyh towards the new fairways. If anyone is interested in doing so contact any board member. We are continuing to want to extend the cart path as well.

Before the annual meeting, we will be playing a couples game, weather permitting at 3:00 p.m. The annual meeting will be held on April 14^th. A catered meal will be at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting will follow the meal. Contact Dana Hamilton or the Pro Shop to purchase your meal ticket by Sunday, April 8^th. Each ticket will cost $10.

Elections will be held for three positions on the board. The three year terms of Joe Cordray, Matt Finch and Matt Mauzey will be expiring. Anyone interested in these positions please attend the annual meeting.

Thanks to all the members, volunteers, and contributors for your constant support to make this course one of the top nine-hole courses in North Central Missouri.

Please mark your calendar for the events already planned for this year. The Annual Meeting is set for April 14^th. Three-man scramble June 23^th and 24^th. Walsworth Youth Tournament July 6^th. Ladies Tournament is scheduled for July 19^nd. Black Memorial Tournament July 28^th and 29^st. Couples Tournament is scheduled for August 25^th. Senior Men's HWY 36 Tournament is August 27^th.

In spite the economic downturn and the cost of living in utilities we have managed to keep the current cost of dues the same. Please take special notice that we added a few things to the dues form. Make sure to include your cart shed number and an email address if you have one.

Tyler Hamilton of Marceline took fourth with a 154, shooting a 77 on both days. Tim Jordan, also of Marceline, shot a 173, with an 83 and a 90, to take 38th place.
